Participants spend August 25-27, 2008 at Aspen Grove in the mountains above BYU campus. At the conference, students are welcomed in a group of other freshmen. With them they will meet new friends, learns ways to adjust to college life, and find out ways to make the most of their college experience at BYU through involvement in leadership. FOL is the best way to start your BYU experience! Make New Friends As part of 350 freshmen attending, students will get to know other students and enjoy team-building activities and fun games. Groups of ten freshmen will be led by two peer mentors who are current BYU students. Adjust to College Foundations of Leadership is the perfect way to meet new classmates and interact with peer mentors who have leadership experience at BYU. They'll know what to expect, how to get involved, and how to make the most of their time in college. Guest speakers will teach ways to make their transition into life at BYU easier. Experience Leadership The Savior's life and teachings will be studied as a model to guide our life and leadership. Peer mentors and guest speakers will present lessons on the Savior as the perfect leader. They will also learn about leadership opportunities in various organizations across campus.
